im downloading it now,
anyone play it yet?
is it as good as the previews make it seem to be
Boring.
I’ve recently got the first one on the PC and it was alright. I already found myself pretty bored with it, but I know I’ll eventually revisit it. Dunno if Bioshock 2 has it, but it’s annoying with limited ammo and having to refill magic/whatever it’s called(which drops are rare), that enemies respawn in areas you leave… especially with the heavy emphasis on backtracking and exploring.

Uh, that’s part of what makes the game hard, and you shouldn’t use ranged weapons unless you really need to.
Ever played a shoot 'em up with unlimited ammo? That would just be boring. If you’re bothered by that, you shouldn’t play Silent Hill.
I love Bioshock, it is awesome, I can’t wait to play Bioshock 2.

I’ve played RE and Silent Hill 2. Problem with this game is heavy emphasis of exploring and backtracking, but constantly respawning enemies. It’s completely discouraging to keep going through areas when you know there is going to be some push-over that’s just going to keep putting small dents in your ammo and health.
I also don’t use projectile weapons most of the time, but it would have been nice to actually feel like I could use them instead of keeping them for bosses/Big Daddy’s. Though using the wrench is the same thing – you end up using up all your EVE.
I just would have liked to been able to go back through areas more without the annoyances of respawns each time.

I agree with the respawn stuff. That’s totally annoying when you have limited ammo. Though, the limited ammo was never an issue for me. Sure, it’s annoying when you suddenly end up in a fight with a big daddy and you accidentally choose a weapon without ammo(or simply the wrong ammo).
Ok, so I’m back from about 3 hours of play. To note (probably obvious (REALLY obvious)), you’re much more sturdier than you were in the first, because of course you are a Big Daddy – though you’re not as sturdy as the Bouncers. You no longer have to holster your weapon in order to use EVE, and you automatically use EVE HYPOS with just one hand, leaving the other free for a 5 second defense if necessary. Hacking is MUCH easier and much less time consuming than in the first, it doesn’t even take you to another screen in order to do so. Adopting and even Harvesting Little Sisters is fun. Big Daddy’s aren’t much of a problem in this one, Big Sisters are and trust me when I say they’re a bitch to fight. Much to Shiny’s liking, EVE scavenging isn’t a big deal anymore. In those 3 hours I have spent I did not run out of HYPOS once, unlike the first.
Being a Big Daddy is fun.
It is fun.
