But seriously, I’m kinda new to the whole torrenting thing, and I’m not sure how or what I’m supposed to be looking for. I’d like to get Fallout 3, I’ve played it on PS3, but I want a chance to play a beefed up and modded version of it on PC.
So, does anyone here know a well-seeded download of FO3 is? Or, atleast a good place to download it from?
This is no place for sharing illegal content.
And I would never use Torrents for illegal shit. Chance to get cough is way to high. I suggest something like Rapidshare or… ah. Just google.
Have you ever heared of people getting in court because of loading songs / movies / games? (torrenting)
That’s mostly other peer2peer software where one user shares the whole file, instead of like bittorrent, just sharing a segment of a file. You can’t sue anyone for sharing a segment of a file. The segment by itself is as useful as a textfile fille with letters because you fell asleep at the keyboard.
Torrents, so far, have been a “perfect crime” kind of deal. Borderline illegal isn’t actually illegal. Cut and dry court systems are fun like that. And like Cadavre said, torrents share segments and that’s not illegal. Older P2P programs, like Napster were 1-on-1, so each person shared the whole file.
Shit, just recently, Pirate Bay got wrapped in a huge legal battle, but they’re still standing strong. =) So, while yes, sharing copywritten files is illegal; torrents do it in such a way that puts them in a safe spot.
Now, companies and such will acknowledge the fact that 99% of torrent users are downloading illegally and will block known ports. Since these are private matters, they’re free to do that as they please. But, most torrent progs laugh at their attempts and do it anyways. Except for the ones that start spoofing packets. The college in Dayton, Ohio does something like that.
