Its annoying

How our school block Graal from connecting. Does anyone know how to get it to work?.. lol I know people are going to say I shouldnt be playing Graal at school: I take classes higher than AP (Called the Cambridge Program) and get A's and B's. I have an aide class which I do this in.

Re: Its annoying

Um, regardless of intelligence, you shouldn't be playing graal at school. If they let everyone install or run whatever they want, there'll be viruses, harddrive space quickly taken up, and potential security holes opening up all over the place. Not to mention people could say use a webbrowser that isn't tracked through the filter to access porn, etc. As an intelligent person, you should realise this.

If you're really intelligent, you know to introduce yourself to the staff, more specifically the network admin, show them you have an interest in the network. If they're easy going enough, ask them kindly if they could set up graal with a timelock on it so it could only be accessed during breaktimes (without the timelock they'll be against it). Ofcourse, it depends on the state of your school too. If computers are at a premium, its never going to happen, school's are pretty insistant on computers being prioritised for those doing work.

Anyways, worst comes to worst, build a web interface. Read through the gserver source and build a compatible text based front end in java so you can still do server maintence and stuff, whack it on a webhost and just access it like that.

Re: Its annoying

Well the proxy is specially setup to only allow internet explorer and also the internet is seeded through the proxy so without it there is no internet. They have very tight security and there is no possible way I could get ahold of and close to the administrator like that because we are a very large school district ( in Delaware ). And they block sites, but kids use circumventors anyways to get on myspace etc. And really, who looks at porn at school? lol

EDIT:
I can easily install it, only I can connect to listserver because they block the ports or something.

Re: Its annoying

Hmmm, well assuming they don't check the type of data, run through port 80 or 8080 (used for http). Maybe port 21 (ftp). How you'd handle all the mapping and routing is beyond a forum posting however. A custom proxy sounds the way to do it.

Re: Its annoying

GraalOnline is a untrustworthy site ran by an untrustworthy troll that does malicious things regularly. The Graal.exe program in v4 and v5 is well within the classification of being spyware and or malware since it scans and hijacks the memory and parts of the hard drive. Has been classified as a virus by McAfee in the past “albeit possibly by error” The IP classes of “Linux Cyberjoueurs” and other Unixmad related things is blocked in the PeerGuardian2 IP Blocklists, and GraalOnline is also listed in the NetAuthority http://www.netauthority.org/offenders/3334.shtml . If I was a serious IT administrator for ANY serious entity I would not consider letting any of that related garbage through for a second… Also the U.S. and French hosts that host GraalOnline are also known hosts that harbor spammers, scammers, DDOSers and known internet terrorists and do not respond to abuse emails. If you want to over ride their firewall or program, just find out what they are using and google it…
