Warning about possible hackers/ddosers

Notice below these people have a strange IP range and attempt to connect to RC multiple times without reason… Anyone/IP range that tries such things without a good reason will be publicly posted… Last octet omitted in case this is a innocent mistake although my server is clearly named…

I’m sure it’s nothing. You couldn’t really do much with rc, we’ve fixed every case of exploiting the file manager to gain access to the hard-drive. And it’s always a good idea to keep backups of your server files in case a staff does go corrupt or something of the sort.

I may be overly paranoid, but I always say its good to see what people/places/things are trying to do to your servers whether it be Gservers, http servers, or anything, and most of the time it’s probably innocent but it never hurts to know. I’m also glad to know that the Gserver is much more secure than it was in years past.

According to http://ws.arin.net/whois/ it’s just someone on Comcast Cable so it’s not really a strange IP range. Probably nothing to worry about.
