Attached is the current GUI I plan to use for my school project making a digital multimeter for Android devices. How can I make this look better? I’m learning as I go as far as Android development. The app is functional, but it looks like shit.

What are the rules as far as editing goes?
No rules
Android’s ui’s really do suck when compared to the iPhone’s. I ended up using javascript / jquery mobile. looked nicer and portable. android can easily integrate with webview / custom functions. just an idea.
I just don’t want it to be all gray and white anymore
This.
I always thought that GUI was uglier than sin. Hard to see on many screens at many angles. Granted I have piss poor vision, but I don’t think it’s the sole attributing factor to my problems with Android; due to corrective lenses.
Surely someone knows how make an app look good
