Im buying a new computer soon. I want a good one for under $500. Ill be using it for Graal, Minecraft and After Effects.
lol
^^^ what he said, good luck -_- You might get lucky on ebay though
Darn it.
Ok I’ll explain this a bit better. I just want the main tower unit. I’ve already got a keyboard, mouse and speakers. I might also be able to take out my RAM too.
under 500 dollars is possibly feasible with a tower if you manage to get a steal of a deal from the right place
considering its a tower, you’d be better off buying locally
but knowing that there is no such thing as a good local computer shop in the majority of ANYWHERE that isn’t a major city
go look on newegg and tiger direct???
edit:
p.s. minecraft can be intensive but it doesn’t have to be, graal is intensive on any computer it doesn’t care, what you’re looking for is a computer to run after effects
i dropped 699 on this laptop, it runs after effects fine for bullshit i make for tumblr
desktops are usually cheaper than laptops
look for A) a multicore processor (that DOES NOT SAY PENTIUM ANYWHERE…) and B) a graphics card
if you can’t get one with a graphics card now or you can but its a shitty graphics card: don’t!!
spend the 500 on the tower now with a decent cpu
come back later, invest in your GPU for around 100 maybe??
read up on motherboards and shit yo
jesus christ.
go on new egg and build one. i have a 4 core and 8 gig mem computer which cost me 400 dollars. most expensive part will be the video card, but if you can find a kit that includes a good gfx card i say go for it. multicore processing is not needed. also, 2 gig of ram is more than enough to do anything.
not needed, but still preferable. it really does help with adobe applications, most of them support with the flick of a tickbox.
edit: multicore processing that is
Go to Walmart, first computer you see under $500 (All of them).
actually, wal-mart has been doing better with computer selection
not that much better but
its possible you can find something
i7s suck big time! just sayin…
w0rd. I like the i5 Sandy Bridge CPUs. Granted, they are a bit dated now, but that makes them less expensive. Still a helluva bang for your buck. (I’d definitely still buy this processor.)

yes i7s suck
but i would buy an i7 extreme for ps2 emulation, just to try it
so many parallel threads

I’m getting a nice Lenova, $600, with an i5 processor and 6 GB of DDR3 RAM. It also has 4 cores. It had a good graphics card :)[COLOR=“Silver”]

Bought my PC ages ago. Settled for a $700 computer with 1 gb AMD raedon hd graphics, 8 gb ram. 3.20ghz processor, four cores, terabyte of disk and drumroll LG blu-ray DVD player built in. It’s an iBuypower gaming PC.
hey look Blu-Ray, too bad there’s no screens that actually are appropriate and make use of blu-ray unless you’re using some stupidly expensive monitor.
Or your parents are Jewish and make you carry a 23 pound tower to the television.
