Cool games I've found

This thread is going to be about those cool games I end up playing out of my researches on game design and the likes.

First is going to be Fear-less, which inspired me to start this thread:

I fell on that gem while visiting pixeljoint.com, looking for a pixel artist community. After reading Cadavre saying we weren’t one, it made it click in my head that there probably were some.

Since the thread has been hijacked, I’ll keep a list here in addition to adding them as replies.

La-Mulana (which doesnt seem to be free anymore), Cave Story(really worth at least trying)

Is so awesome it got me laughing at the fun I was having for an hour or so.
This one really is a must.

Ingenious simplicity that stuck to my mind… it’s only a flash mini puzzle thing I played like 12 years ago and I still remember it.
It’s a puzzle where you need to figure out which order to add things to your cube is the right order.

The creator also made it in different versions… head scratching fun.

The most inventive mechanics I’ve seen in a while.
It’s snake, but it’s also an rpg!

Arose from the past:
Syndicate, 1993 game by Bullfrog that pretty much depicts what an Anarcho-Syndicalist world would be like… it’s high quality stuff too.

Dungeon Keeper, 1997 game by Electronic Arts (I only played the first so it’s the one I’m going to recommend)… its mechanics are different, the game is different, I’d like to ripoff the idea someday and make an awesome game like you only can with such mechanics (unless you’re the team who made Dungeons, these guys must have been retarded).

Diamond Hollow II, it’s one of the rare games I’ve actually finished in the last few years.
It’s on kongregate!

Glitch dungeon, a cool short game that keeps getting more and more “glitchy” and has really nice mechanics.

Card matching game!

This is not a game, it’s a comic posing as a game… but it’s awesome :open_mouth:

Who remembers that sweet game on kongregate where we would take over mars?

Nah it was a turn based strategy game

This is a collection of games, but it fits this thread.
You can see in the mix, La-Mulana (which doesnt seem to be free anymore), Cave Story(really worth at least trying)… and many others I wasn’t aware of… Although many of them are Gradius like games, it’s worth checking out to get through a lot of game mechanics possibilities in a short while:

Showed to me by a friend. Haven’t played it but the gameplay is obviously awesome.

Today arose from the past:

Syndicate, 1993 game by Bullfrog that pretty much depicts what an Anarcho-Syndicalist world would be like… it’s high quality stuff too.

Dungeon Keeper, 1997 game by Electronic Arts (I only played the first so it’s the one I’m going to recommend)… its mechanics are different, the game is different, I’d like to ripoff the idea someday and make an awesome game like you only can with such mechanics (unless you’re the team who made Dungeons, these guys must have been retarded).

So many awesome games from the past… so many FPS in the present X_X.

Cube World

You remind me of this one, which caught me with its ingenious simplicity and stuck to my mind… it’s only a flash mini puzzle thing I played like 12 years ago and I still remember it.

I’m planning on getting Rust pretty soon. Maybe we can all play some time.
