Final Fantasy VII (PC)

So, I’ve installed it on my netbook and so far I’ve gotten as far as the first boss in the game. I’ve had no video issues or framerate issues as of yet, but before I installed this game people were saying there were issues with the videos in-game such as the crater (I think) site.

Since I’m assuming it deals with the codec will I have to decode it as well and recode it to fix this issue when it comes up at a later time?

at the races it tends to crash all the time to the point u can never get past it

Has there been a fan-made patch for this issue? I’m just trying to avoid any problems the further I get into the game. This is the ‘first’ time I’ve played in on a PC.

I got to the 2nd disk when I played it on the PC and found no trouble.

However, just to be safe, you should play it on a psx emulator.

You will be able to get higher resolution too.

Chocobo patch… not sure how effective it will be

Alright, my results after finishing this game is simple.

I had NO issues during the first disc of the game. Movies on all the discs also played fine.

During disc two, I started to get random crashes, usually when I was walking around but it would never crash in the same place twice. It was rare if anything and as far as I know I couldn’t fix it.

I thought maybe changing the ability mode to 98 and applying the official patch would help but I don’t think it did. Thought I would mention this for netbook users, might be different for them, the game never gave me an error of what the problem was.

NOTE: After going back to disc two and three and using 95 as the computer ability mode, I stopped having random crashes.

So…save often.
