GR client editor is fucked up

Hi guys!

Last time i got into GR, I remember I was using either the GR client (2.2.2) or the editor to edit levels, but now both seem fucked up, and I don’t remember having changed anything in those folders, but I might have reinstalled windows since then.

The client gives glitched tiles, and the editor shows no tiles, and no gifs/pngs
Example: http://d.pr/i/yner

If I extract a fresh GR folder, I get the correct tiles, but I still can’t see gifs, and the most annoying part is this one:

No matter how many times I click on the error, it never goes away, I need to kill the process manually.

Anybody has the same issue and a solution to offer?

Thanks!

yeah this problem happens so much that it’s 50% of the reason I don’t do anything Graal related. There’s a fix I just can’t remember since I’ve been away for so long. That second error is dutch to me though.

Basically, put: “removetiledefs;” without quotes, in an NPC.

I also see that with Windows 10, I don’t seem able to start the editor.
I get:
Exception EAccessViolation in module GraalEditor.exe at 0000F468.
Access violation at address 0040F468 in module ‘GraalEditor.exe’.
Write of address DD55E48C.

I guess writing a new editor should be “one of?” our priority.
Oh wait! We already have one: https://github.com/OpenGraal/OpenGraal.LevelEditor-cs
But is it considered usable? Probably not… not even predefined objects. And no testing of the level.

Edit: Don’t worry to much, graal_222.exe, training, F1, E(ditor) [F4] still working fine.

Yeah I just setup and compiled it, shouldn’t be much problem filling in the blanks though.

Jatz used a nice dynamic pane library which I’ll probably use though. For example : http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/

graal editor leaves an error message every time I exit and when I close it, it just pops up again. additionally if I start another instance afterwards it creates another error message that repeatedly reopens once closed, so after a day of being in and out of the editor I’ll have several of this pissing me off. nice game beri good 10/10

I haven’t had that error message for a while.

Just use Gonstruct yo

I don’t like Gonstruct.

Thanks guys!

Both the removetiledefs; trick and this one worked:

The last one seems to have fixed it completely!

Considering these issues, I decided to reupload a GR client file where I stripped this file out, so here it is:

(I also changed from 7z to zip, so everyone can open it)
