So what do you think GR should do about forums in that the website as a whole?

Any features to add? take away? hypotheticals? suggestions? examples? anything?

If you could make or draw a website in paint do it and explain what’s going on with it. If you have problems with topics tell us. Again anything at all about the website is welcomes in this discussion. Giving or making examples would help us see better your point of view and therefore it would be more likely to be considered.

Lets see the conceptual blue prints you think would be good if implemented on GR!

A website is easier to navigate than a forum. Having only a forum as a webpage is a little unprofessional in my opinion.

Who said were professional, we’re not even making our own game, were stealing some peoples games… and were a non-profit organization so whoo cares? =)

Having only a forum as a webpage drives people away. I would know, since I’m a people, and it has driven me away from potential communities, simply because it, I don’t know, it doesn’t feel right.

Either way, having a website > not having a website.

Website with no content is not a website because it’s there as a place-holder.

also to Dangerless, very good point
and forum based communities never drove me away Eathanu but I could see how they could based on some people’s personalities and likes/dislikes

that being said, you need less of a front web-page and more of a front web-introduction

not anything stupid or flashy, just a website that is less open to being filled with content if we have none
like a button based THIS GOES TO FORUM THIS GOES TO DOWNLOADS ETC

maybe all the stats at the bottom

ONE PAGE if you catch my drift, perhaps with navigational links to important forum topics

Well the forums contains practically everything you need to understand what we do, and how to have your own lil gserver etc…

I think we should include something on the front and forum page where people can subscribe to GR news letters about stuff that is happening. Dangerless can do weekly newsletters about what’s going on with the community to keep a more active userbase.

Oh lord no.
Remember how the official news letter went, hahaha?
Sent maybe one or two messages. Then months later: “Hi Pplz, I gots ur Infoz!”

There’s not enough links for submenu’s – eliminate them. We basically end up having to hover over one link just to show a single other link under it… double navigation for single purpose FTL.
I can’t think of many link’s needed:
Home, Downloads, FAQ, Forums, Chat, Playerworlds

Get rid of the ticker and display the important information over with the other statistics.
