You completely missed the point of my post. I gave an outrageous suggestion to show that I don’t care what the story is. It just needs to be fun.
I dont think i missed it, i just took it literally. I still think playing as unixmad would help people understand why we are hacking a server to play an older version of existing software.

GServer 2v1 is 100% own code, backwards engineered to work with 2.0 to 2.1.8.1.
GServer 2v2 is going to work with 2.1.9.0 -> 5.1.2.0 and maybe even further.
I thought there were a lot of problems with version 5. I think an original client would be better than v5. If anyone can be bothered with that epic task. I haven’t done enough C, so i wont be producing one anytime soon.
I think you guys are doing good work, the server seems quite stable and the list server has been quite reliable. Im not here to criticize anyone.
