Guilds?

I was thinking of making a ‘Borg’ guild (Hosting loads of pointless worlds with names like “borg cube” and 3420957024, attacking and telling people they will be assimilated unless they join, just generally annoying everyone :P) BUT “request a guild” doesn’t seem to be working, is this just me? And even then do global guilds work?
