Anybody play Assassin's Creed yet? If you haven't, you really don't know what your missing!!!
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
It's awesome. It's like if Prince of Persia and Metal Gear Solid went back behind the shed.
The beginning really threw me off, though. But, still a great game.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
Waiting for PC Release
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
Piracy is bad.
And the controls probably suck anyway.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
Who said he was gonna pirate it? Personally, I prefer to get games on PC, if I can help it. Don't have to buy a new huge-ass console. Just upgrade a few parts as you go.

40-50$ X-Box controller.
microsoft.com -> find the drivers on there for the pc (i know they exist) -> have fun.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
There are, indeed, drivers. I wouldn't go with Microsoft's drivers, though. They don't have great support for sensitivity and deadzone. Go with the XBCD drivers. I used them for a while, before I got a Playstation2->USB adapter. =P
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
I like the DualShock 2, it's always felt the most comfortable in my hand for long periods of time. I like the D-Pad the most out of all the pads I've tried too, and most games I play use it. Unfortunately the analogs don't work as well as they should with NullDC's recent joypad feature, something about the actual DC pad's analog being so accurate they don't need a deadzone, but maybe that'll be fixed eventually.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
$400 for a game console with like 6 games which may or may not be “mediocre” is simply not worth it, build your own computer with reasonable hardware for under that price and get just as good graphics and game quality…
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
At first, I was totally against the thought of getting a PS3. In fact, I went out of my way to bash the system for “not being worth the price.” But, sure enough, I ended up buying one. After looking at the possibilities of the console, I determined that I could make it worth it. Not only is it a cheap blu-ray player, but it plays all PS2 games (at least the 20GB and 60GB do). And going by the success of the PS2, we’re likely to see that repeat itself. The system is still just a baby, but give it time and I’m sure we’ll see some good things from it.
As for the PC thing, already done that. I only play MMO's and shooters on PC and RPGs on console. That's how I roll.
With consoles, you have to be able to justify to yourself what possible uses you could have for it to be “worth it.”
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
IDK, I'm sticking with Wii/PS2 for now. Personally I was thinking the Wii would turn out to be this gen's PS2 because of how well it's selling.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
I work at GameStop so I get a lot of the little inside info. The reason the Wii's are selling so well is because of how good of a show it puts on, the advertising is enticing and they're so hard to get ahold of that people assume that it's because the system is awesome. When, Nintendo is purposefully releasing them in small quantities; to keep the hype up.
I had a Wii, sold it. It was really fun for the first two months. But, I discovered that a vast majority of the games were “party games.” Which is fine and all, but all my friends are in another town while I’m in college. SO, the problem being that I have nobody else to play it with. It just got to be extremely boring. However, that’s not to say it’s the system’s fault. It’s as I said, earlier, you have to justify it being worth it and the Wii just wasn’t doing it.
But, we're really off-topic so I'm going to end it there. If anyone wants to continue this discussion, please make a new thread about it.
Re: How 'bout that Assassin’s Creed?
Nintendo has been slipping pretty bad since the late SNES/N64 era… There really has been little but kiddie and party games released since then with only a few exceptions… Microsoft and Sony are pretty much proprietary crap each with only a select few overpriced titles on their newer consoles, and a proprietary rights limited media format… Sure there is "What’s “possible” but if you do whats possible you violate the “DMCA” and DRM bullshit… Sure lots was also possible with BETA, CD-I, and Laserdisc, but look how those ended up in the end… I could pay $1000 for a golden spoon and be able to eat my cereal and stuff it up my ass and stab people with it, but that doesn’t mean it always makes sense or that I will… So all of this pretty much leaves the video gaming and fascist media industries in a sad state with only a few exceptional titles spread across a few overpriced pieces of plastic… Music and movies are also in the same load of crap… So do to the lack of talent and quality material for reasonable prices, they are now assaulting freedom of speech, the constitutions of nations, and poor people…
