i was going to purpose removing all the player house’s but agret suggested it first . the whole server seems to be made up of nothing but player house’s . if you don’t want to remove them just add npc’s to the house’s to direct the player at quest’s and items .

Enigma is a good server, but things have changed over time.
Beyond nostalgia or wanting a staff position, no one has reason to stay.
Earning something through a quest makes you want to hold onto your effort as value.
However this effect is multiplied, for better or worse, by it’s worth.
For example, say there were 20 pseudo-content servers.
Each of them gave you lv3 sword and 15 hearts.
These stats will not compel people to stay, without people they have no value for their effort, making each server indistinguishable from the next. It’s not a pissing contest either about who has the most stats, one server that has a higher level sword or an extra heart will not make it better.
Throwing old content together turns into nothing more than a museum; When was the last time you visited a museum, and more than once at that.
Giving someone a staff job helps give them worth, especially if they feel they’ve earned it. It is something to show ‘I am different from you’ to other people. Ergo you will have an easier time maintaining staff. This becomes moot if your staff roster changes every few days with new people or has an over abundance of inactive people, this tarnishes it’s worth.
Personally, I have no actual bindings to satay on Enigma, any server really. My own servers barely do it for me, they keep me around because of a creative outlet and let me experiment with ideas.
Some bugs in old games make them more fun than perfection. It makes you feel as if you discovered something that wasn’t intended. Example, using a Graal horse to jump over a 1 tile thick wall to find some secret.
Personal non-competitive ‘bugs’ can be good. Babylon had a little jump system, it’s collision detection was horrible. But it was better that way, why? You could abuse it to stand ontop of hedges or tables, which was ‘different’ for other people and therefore fun.
People like to feel special, not everyone likes to be hand fed details, but making something completely random isn’t enjoyable either. Once someone figures out “If I use something that does ‘this’, while around something that does ‘that’, the combined effect should result in an interesting idea”, they have fun. Mixing attributes or weapons to do something else, to allow people to experiment and have theories.
At the least, it will make them feel smarter. People like to have their egos petted sometimes. Downsider is a notorious example of this as he will run out of no where asking to be praised.
Take all this as you will, may not all flow together as they are tangent thoughts for you to piece together if you want a result. If you decide to make use of it and understand it on your own, and get results. You’ll have a better feeling the accomplishment was yours, and not some word for word instruction. This is what attracts people.
