Interaction between multiple levels

Well on my player world I dont have interaction with other levels eg.

when i am on wolrd_a1.nw i cant see anyone on world_a2.nw and i have to walk up to the edge of the level to visit the level

in simpler forms my map isnt being drawn

have you defined your map in your serveroptions?

List of bigmap.txt type maps used by the server. It lets the server know the level layout

so you can see players move and talk in adjacent levels.

maps = elan.txt

I think so but where is the elan.txt suppose to go?

In a folder defined in folder-config I believe. :>

?

in default\servers\default\config?

even with it in the config it still only shows one nw

is this right?
“world_a1.nw”,“world_a2.nw”
“world_b1.nw”,“world_b2.nw”

EDIT: It show on Gserver that the bigmap.txt is loaded

Are you using… setmap image,text,x,y; as a script on the player…?

either way you should have big_map_name.txt in the world folder…

it just warps me to the other level and no interaction between

I had this problem sometime back when I was using a .gmap instead of a txt map.

two sections in the server option’s .

maps =

Sets the bigmap and minimap to use.

Setting bigmap will break gmaps.

bigmap = maptext,mapimage,defaultx,defaulty

minimap = maptext,mapimage,defaultx,defaulty

maptext is the bigmap.txt styled file with the levels.

mapimage is the image to use

defaultx and defaulty is the position where the heads of players not on the map will be drawn.

bigmap =
minimap =

both need filled in to work i believe . images go in the “level/images” folder but the txt’s can go in the world folder . remember when in doubt , put it in the levels folder . you may need to restart the server also for the changes to take effect , but thats only if your hosting a server .

You DO NOT have to put that map shit into the GServer options. It’s not required so stop suggesting it. He’s simple fucking up the script or the .txt file. Or both.

Merged doublepost_______________

iSlayer, PM me what you have in your .txt file for the map and the script you are using.

Eh, I highly recommend the maps= one though, since that allow you to see players in adjacent levels. It’s annoying as hell when a server doesn’t have it set up.

Everyone is putting emphases on setting those up when it’s not the problem. It’s pissing me off.

His problem is that he isn’t setting up his map correctly. But, when he does get it set up, maps= will let the gserver know how the levels are linked, so it can send information about players in adjacent levels. This lets you see them move across levels.

The other commands are a shortcut for setmap and setminimap. If you fill those in, you don’t need to use the setmap or setminimap script commands.
