Levels

It’s the thing where you can choose between underworld and overworld, and while looking at underworld you can see arrows for where players are on the overworld.

Interesting… I was actually thinking about making an underworld sort of like the underdark.

The underworld will be the same size as the overworld. levels without anything on them will just be cave walls.

An underworld is pretty low on the totem pole at the moment, however it’s something I do want to get to eventually.

gotta get the overworld done first…else there wont be a point to having an underworld…

I could just generate a big dungeon and add the levels to the underworld folder and then we edit the levels we’d like to change when we get there.

You can do that and we can take a look at it. Worse case we scrap the underworld.

That’s basically my point Dontar. It’s low on my priority list so we may or may not have an underworld at the time the server is released. It is something that will be added eventually.

I need a kinda, rent collection npc, that if you say Pay Rent, 89 rupees get deducted from you and added to the script, and if the (Zinijh Hotel Manager) says Collect Rent, the total amount of Rupees in the script gets reset to 0 and the manager gets the total amount of rupees.

also make it so i can actively change the rent amount and collector for rented houses or if someone rents out a room of a playerhouse

I will make 4 prebuilt houses that are for sale/rent

plus a door npc for house owner/renter, kind of a better key system than the door script that comes with the editor, so the Land Lord/Lady/renter/owner can enter, and be able to lock/unlock the door so anyone can/cannot enter.

and an NPC inside the house that gives a flag to the owner/renter/land lord/lady so they can use the door npc controls.

I would make it but I suck at making complex scripts.

I’m not sure how much of that is possible with out an NPC server.

I’m pretty sure that with out an NPC Server you’d have to be on the same level as the door you’re trying to lock/unlock.

Its possible with serverstrings, albeit a bit spammy.
I’ll make it since I’m bored

tnx

//Example for "Room/House 1"
if (playerchats) {
  //server.room1 = Owner,RentBalance,RentDue,UnLocked
  if(strequals(#g,Zinijh Hotel Manager)) { // Manager Controls
    if(strequals(#c,Collect Rent)) { // "Collect Rent"
      if(strtofloat(#I(server.room1,1)) == strtofloat(#I(server.room1,2))) {
        replacestring server.room1,1,0;
        playerrupees += strtofloat(#I(server.room1,2));
        setplayerprop #c,:Collected Rent:;
      } else setplayerprop #c,:Failed to Collect Rent:;
    } else if(startswith(setrent ,#c) && strlen(#c) > 8) { // "SetRent <number>"
      tokenize #c; replacestring server.room1,2,#t(1);
      setplayerprop #c,:Rent set to #v(strtofloat(#I(server.room1,2))):;
    } else if(startswith(setowner ,#c) && strlen(#c) > 8) { // "SetOwner <account>"

      setplayerprop #c,:Owner set to #I(server.room1,0):;

    if(strequals(#c,Pay Rent)) { // "Pay Rent"

        this.temp -= strtofloat(#I(server.room1,2))-strtofloat(#I(server.room1,1));
        playerrupees -= this.temp;
        replacestring server.room1,1,#v(strtofloat(#I(server.room1,1))+this.temp);
        setplayerprop #c,:Rent Paid (#v(strtofloat(#I(server.room1,1)))/#v(strtofloat(#I(server.room1,2)))):;
      } else setplayerprop #c,:Insufficient Funds:;
    } else if(strequals(#c,Lock Door)) { // "Lock Door"
      replacestring server.room1,3,0;
      setplayerprop #c,:Locked:;
    } else if(strequals(#c,Unlock Door)) { // "Unlock Door"
      replacestring server.room1,3,1;
      setplayerprop #c,:Unlocked:;
    }
  }
}

if(playertouchsme) { //If its a Door
  if(strequals(#g,Zinijh Hotel Manager) // Manager
     || strequals(#I(server.room1,0),#a) // Owner
     || strequals(#I(server.room1,3),1)) { // Unlocked
    setlevel2 level,x,y; // Warp to Inside Level
  }
}

Untested and Created in Notepad. In theory, should work.
Just have a copy of it as the door itself, and a copy inside the house if you want controls to be used inside there.
:Edit: Could be more efficient, like using #e( ) instead of tokens. But I’m too lazy to be arsed for it.

how about a Rent Due thing that increases for every day you dont pay your owed rent

also, how exactly do I use that script?

you never mentioned how often the rent is, also something like that would be prefered to be added manually
This isn’t a database NPC.

Also. You put that entire script, as the door
And another copy of the script (minus the playertouchsme part) into their home to give access to those commands inside as well

weekly rent of 89 rupee, monthly 356 rupee.

Could have it done ‘manually’

jesus, I will need to do the rent thing manually…

can you simplify it?

like the manager/landlord just has to say increase rent and the rent due gets the weekly rent added onto it…and a kinda flag system to show the rentie the total due and say Pay Rent?

and the collect rent.

something that even an idiot can figure out how to work.
god, apparantly, for the things I really wanna do we would need an npc server…

what I mean is, when someone says Rent Room, something like room1rented flag would be added

as I said…things I want are complicated enough to need an npc server apparantly…oh well…i just use simple scripts for now.

Still doesn’t require an NPC Server, just logic. You can do it (ie: edit it to do what you want) :open_mouth:

NPC Server is just an excuse for most people; There is more than one way around something.

it would help if i knew much about gscript…most what ive done was take parts of bigger scripts, do small editing, and make a new npc…like the baddy spawn script I took from the Ultimate Cheat Script by Trinixx.

By the way, Dontar, you should always check if there’s a newer version of the level you’re about to upload before you upload it. I’ve done some changes to Zinijh and I want you too look at it. :stuck_out_tongue:

And, also, don’t edit overworld links, they’re supposed to be either 64 tiles wide or high depending on if it’s on the left/right side or up/down side.
