Making an 8-Bit PNG image.

Hey everyone, I’ll cover how to make an 8-Bit PNG image with in this thread.
I’ll break it down in steps for everyone to easily follow.

Step 1: Download via this URL.

  • Paint.NET is a freeware raster graphics editing program for Microsoft Windows, developed on the .NET Framework.

Step 2: Unzip the Zip and run the executable thus installing

Step 3: Start up after you have installed it.

Step 4: With up, make your image or load the one you want to turn into an 8-Bit PNG file.

Step 5: Click “File” in the top left corner. Select “save as”, type in the name you want and hit “Ok”.

Step 6: Now in this new window select 8-Bit for the bit depth and hit Ok

Congratulations: You are now finished!
For future reference, if you wish to skip this bullshit 8-bit PNG junk for Graal images, save it as a .gif. I hope you enjoyed this thrilling tutorial, I know I sure did.
One more thing, if you still can’t seem to do it right, send me a forum PM with the image you wish to turn into an 8-bit and I’ll do it for you.
