This line discredits everything else you can ever say, and anything else you have said. You’re too blinded by a VERY thin graphical cover that you’re even using that to judge how complex the game actually is, gameplay-wise or coding-wise. Well it’s not fun but it is addictive and it is satisfying when you complete what you are building. I’d never call it “fun” though, I imagine building things in multiplayer might be fun though.
The most fun I have with the game is being scared shitless by the million creepers surrounding my castle every morning

Honestly, I’ve been playing the shit out of minecraft since about… September. I stopped most other gaming almost entirely (except for AssBro, which I picked up recently). I found a great server, made some great friends, became an admin and couldn’t be happier with the game. I could care less about the graphics, considering it was built in Java and is being developed by a single man. Given some more time, I’m sure they could eventually expand on that for all the graphic-happy people out there. I, mean, shit… The game JUST hit beta phase for god sake.
Oh, and Shiny. I really liked your texture pack. I’d kinda like to see what Beholder could come up with, too. =P
People seem to focus on the building aspect when describing MC. It’s certainly a core element, but I’ve gotten a great sense of adventure exploring the outside environments and cave systems the level generator comes up with. I’m not sure any other game has given me such a tense feeling as this does going deep into a pitch black cave where something could jump out at you at any second. MC has the best (worst?) pop out scares XD
Not to mention the Creepers.

As for being developed by a single man, that man is now a millionaire and I think he can afford to pay some top quality artist to make an awesome tileset for the game, however I doubt it’d be a 128x128 texture set due to older pcs dying from them

I think he is mostly adding stuff as default that people use most (like colored Dye’s to make colored wool, black sheep, etc), I mostly use the FancyPack (adds clay/bone crafts, panels, furniture, etc)…
