My bro says the same thing. I have found however, that if you moderately overclock your processor/gpu/whatever is lagging…you can gain 5-10 frames per second without any damage to the hardware. You really just need good cooling…That and you should blow your case free of dust monthly. In my case, overclocking my Phenom chip eliminates the minute lag I get when playing Bioshock. If you have an Nvidia card you can also use Nhancer (for those with ancient cards) or Nvidia Inspector. Through this program you can alter graphic settings and also unlock a mode which forces your card to run at “maximum performance”.

We used to have a 450mhz computer underclocked at 400… it ran really smoothly for it’s age and we replaced it (3 months ago) because it couldn’t read youtube videos anymore and we had a more recent computer lying around.
The only info I ever had about underclocking was from the guy who built the computer and said it would make the computer last longer and run more smoothly. Anyone else knows about that? I’m thinking of building my own and am wondering what I should do with the ram and processor speed.
