Make a program that outputs a simple grid based gameboard to the screen using either numbers or characters.
Allow the user (marked by G in the example) to move either up, down, left, or right each turn. If the player steps on a trap then they lose. If the make it to the treasure ‘X’ then they win.
I personally started a nw level generator for practice. There’s a thread around somewhere, but it took input for dimensions and would go through and randomly fill the levels with trees and such. I started working on a house generator, but I haven’t tied that in yet.
You could make one as complex as you like, so it would be great practice.
Make a program that pumps out the code for GUI input and inside the program is many many customizations based on mouse input etc
(lol I don’t even expect that, I was just putting that one out there)
Command prompt only please :3 But thank you C: I could make a Mario 1 clone in command prompt using just symbols to represent tiles, blocks, characters (ect) though
As far as the RLG one, I plan on making a rogue type game as general practice c: I’ve always been interested in those, the only issues I have currently with that I guess is off screen causes crashes; but that can be fixed if I put a restriction on specific “tiles” by adding density to the walls O:
Again thank you c:
I’m really looking forward to the level generator as that seems fairly basic with the concept c: But we’ll see :D!
