Server won't pick up textfiles

First off, I’m hosting my player-world for online testing. I’m pretty new to the whole ordeal and I am having some technical issues I thought maybe someone could advise me on.

I’m having a problem with my server picking up textfiles. It can pick up on bigmap files, but the join and putnpc commands won’t work.

Is there something I’m doing wrong? and can someone advise me on what the problem might be? and how to fix it?

Thanks, guys.

i bet join and putnpc are broken

Any suggestions and/or loopholes to fix this?

Join seems to be working for me. Here’s the script Xialza’s using for it. You could have possibly included the “.txt” on accident?

if (created){ join level_crab-mound; //level_crab-mount being the text file }

You shouldn’t need to check a flag for join.

join rupee;

That should work.

I’m having problems with putnpc.

I’m trying to call up some text files from my /world folder. They do exist there (although offline they it says they can’t be found. I’m not sure if that is normal or not). And they aren’t saved with the extension at the end, like so:

putnpc ,my_file;

If I amend the code to say, for instance:

putnpc ,my_file.txt;

it will find it, yet it won’t execute the script within the file.

I checked my foldersconfig and everything seems to be in order. I’m not sure what I’m overlooking here.

putnpc imgname,scriptname,x,y; creates a npc, scriptname is the name of a textfile containing the npc script

I think you were mixing up lay and putnpc.

I see what I did wrong now. Thanks Spoon.

I wanted putnpc, I forgot to specify the x and y. However, I found that I needed to put the .txt files in the execscrpits folder.

Shouldn’t matter what folder. On PWA I had them in my folder (world/levels/Spooon/). Just make sure in folder config you make it so the folder you want them in supports .txt

file world/*.txt

or something like that.

What’s with the semi colon

It’s still a legit command Skoopa, hence it needs to still follow the rules of the syntax. Anyway this issue has somehow been resolved and both join and putnpc now work somehow…
