Shutdown my server

You guys were hosting a server for me, Costa de Agua, and I wanted to restart it. I shut it down in RC figuring it would boot back up automatically. I haven’t been sure who to ask about this, so I’m posting it here. Sorry guys. ;o

Still no clue why you wanted to restart it in the first place though o_o

I’m a tard?

I dunno, I was changing some of the server options but they weren’t actually working. Like the staffonly and underconstruction variables. I thought maybe to restart the server?

Every time I add a new staff member for RC, I have to restart my server.

whenever I update hidden system NPCs, like -System, I have to restart my server AND delete the old entry from weapons.txt to get the new -System to update. Fortunatly, I don’t need to update it often

This is a feature I have been begging Nalin to fix.

To fix:

  • When you update serveroptions.txt with RC, server will reload it so it works.
  • being able to remove old weapons in weapons.txt via RC and it’ll reload afterwards.

It’d be nice if the weapons saved to seperate txt files, like NC does with classes (I forget how it handled NPCWs), so you can just delete the files to remove a weapon, but I don’t pretend to know enough about coding to assume it’s doable or easy, lol.

It already reloads serveroptions.txt. I added that feature a long time ago. Your complaint was with ‘underconstruction’ not updating. That is related to something else and I will take a look into it.

Ha. That is how the new gserver does it. It adds a “weapons” directory and it saves each weapon as its own .txt file. I don’t care enough to backport that feature to the old gserver, though.

Nice. And yeah, if that’s coming in the new Gserver, there’s no point backporting it. I can wait. Excellent work, Nalin
