Video Cards.

Ok i was observing this video card when i spotted these two thingies

What slots do these go into? PCI x1?

Wrong end, those ends are for ‘Cross Fire’.
(Linking multiple Graphics Cards of the same type for ‘roughly’ 2x more power)

The longer bar at the bottom is where you shove it. Lol
It requires a PCI Express x16 slot.

Also if you notice the tiny black box near the top right with 3 pins sticking out of it going into the board.
This Graphics Card requires a 6pin power connection directly from your PSU (Power Supply).

If you get this, make sure you have these pins available (or atleast have an adaptor) and that your PSU’s wattage is capable.

Eh, can i see these pins?

Nevermind, Nalin helped me resolve everything.

I was thinking the same thing until Beholders post, cheers.

What you don’t know is that Beholders old computer PSU died. :open_mouth:

:open_mouth: I didn’t have a choice on that PSU!

^- This is what I bought for my current rig. (Minus the power meter in the post)

You mean the pretty cases with all of the flashy LED’s aren’t?

I built my machine last year… I upgraded my 7900 graphics card to the 9600 series and now it’s purring like a kitten.

I might try a water cooled system when I build my next one… however that’s more of a geek factor than any real need to do so.

BTW Beholder, what motherboard is that? I need me one of those (better than the crap i have now).

The image is just something random. I use a P5KC in my main rig, it kicks ass.
Native 4x DDR2 and 2x DDR3 support (not at the same time, of course.)
