Hello!!! I started playing Graal back around 2000 on N-Pulse and started playing UN as it changed and eventually dropped off playing online. I’ve been gradually working on my own server (Vinland) for years and was gradually making progress until my hard drive died a few weeks ago, and I found graal reborn when I was out looking for 1.39. All I had online was a map I generated the winter before last, but I mostly cleaned up the towns/quests and dropped a few islands into the ocean.
I’ll probably focus on my own classic styled server, but I wouldn’t mind throwing some levels together for Graal Reborn. I’m mostly good for levels and very light scripting, so I could easily get a decent town or quest together.
I’m stuck on dial-up at the moment, but I’ll probably give in and get satellite internet in the next couple months. (Definitely blew everything on school and ordering a new desktop…)
Looks great;
Those who make their projects with a ‘classic’ feel in mind should be able to get along very easily (as opposed to those who want to host a playerworld rip that’s heavily NPC-Server / GS2 dependant).
Best of luck to you and your project. We could really use some new life here, one that isn’t an ‘elitist’ or ‘era-whore’
Yeah the castle was way out of scale and the door/bridge was split between two levels… It was never really in play, so I just left it there and didn’t do anything to it. Looks like I lost everything with my hard drive, which was about stupid, but there’s not much I can do about it now. I’m going to start out with all of the weapons and such, then go and get some new levels made.
I’m thinking islands, so I can switch between regions without making a vast overworld, which is time consuming and kills the game play. I’ve got some ideas for a class system that’ll be even and add diversity. I’ll start with the classes, so it should have a solid demo within a couple weeks.
