Windows 10 = Spyware Anonymous 07/28/15 (Tue) 14:27:49 No.102018[Last 50 Posts]

Microsoft has done it again

Microsoft owns Pando Networks, famous for the malware/botnet Pando Media Booster.

Windows Update in Windows 10 utilizes P2P by default, most likely the same P2P technology used by Pando Media Booster.

Essentially it turns your PC into a zombie host server, wasting your bandwidth serving updates to other computers.

This also means Windows Update might be utilized later to spread malware through the P2P system via 0days.

You cannot turn off “Telemetry” unless you own Windows 10 Enterprise Edition.

This means your computer will continuously leak unspecified information to Microsoft and there’s no way of turning this off.

You cannot turn off “Real-time Protection”, aka Windows Defender. Even if you do it will turn itself on again after a while.

This means you cannot prevent your PC from sending random files and information to Microsoft for “analysis”.

Cortana has zero local storage functionality and does not function unless you have a Microsoft Account connected.

It will even inform you about this if you try using it on a local account, and then shut itself down.

Windows 10 start menu will have “Content suggestions” which are on by default, which means you’ll be seeing ads.

Windows 10 “Wifi Sense” will be begging for your Facebook account details so it can get to know you better.

It will also be sharing your Wifi password with all your Facebook/Skype/Outlook friends, their friends, as well as Microsoft.

tl;dr Windows 10 is Microsoft’s newest datamining operation

The Windows 10 Thread - Confirmed Malware Edition Anonymous 07/28/15 (Tue) 11:28:42 No.303005[Last 50 Posts]

Someone suggested it, so I’m making it.

A collection thread about all the crazy shit we know so far about Windows 10.

Discuss.

sounds like good fun

I’ve been datamined ever since it started existing, by whatever is open on my computer: browsers, Adobe, java, Windows… I don’t care unless it takes up heavy bandwith.

Thanks for the info, I’ll know where to look/what to do if I want to keep stuff secret.
But has Microsoft ever been brought up as witness for any computer crime? I really doubt so, ISPs are though; those are who know what we do on the web. Microsoft and co. only wants to know how we use their products. They don’t and can’t even check if we’ve cracked their stuff. So why should I care? Unspecified information is probably just unspecified because if they did specify it, hackers would have a field day.

aaaand who owns Microsoft?
THE JEWS
sounds like it’s time to learn to get used to Linux qq

Sigh, likely bullshit with no validity to it. Analyzing this would take more effort, so I don’t care enough to bother.

Further, the data is probably NOTHING.

“You can’t turn it off” “even if you do”
I can’t speak for turning itself on, but I doubt this is true. It’s probably an idiot using the software.
> Cortana has zero local storage functionality and does not function unless you have a Microsoft Account connected.

Ok? Why is this a problem, exactly?
> Windows 10 start menu will have “Content suggestions” which are on by default, which means you’ll be seeing ads.

Haven’t seen this yet. But the wording suggests it can be disabled, even if accurate.

So disable what you don’t want? I don’t get the problem, again.

I installed windows 10 and it turns out it’s just windows so far. Not sure what I was expecting.

The conspiracy post gave me a migraine because it’s so fucking ignorant.

Yeah I found it pretty ehhh as well. There’s a few little nice features like virtual desktops(you can have multiple), but now my laptop won’t fully power off when I go to shutdown and I have to hold in the power button :frowning:

Windows 10 doesn’t support some of the Radeon series ATI/AMD video cards.

this image made the fp of imgur yesterday. http://i.imgur.com/9DoVoix.jpg

Yes that image is quite a fear mongering collection of paper and string. (half of those are so ridiculous I call bullshit) I know they’re not going to be stealing important information from you, and there’s no reason to jump to conclusions, but my problem is just how much control is taken away from you. Some of these options not even being able to be disabled without Enterprise edition is pretty controlling. I don’t even agree with half of the restrictions placed upon the users compared to what I had on my WinXP computer before having to make the leap to Win8. So a jump to Win10 is looking like a pain in the ass, and that image is definitely not helping.

keylogger? Who’d conciously want that on their computer O_O

Are you suggesting that on some sub conscious level I would prefer key loggers on my computer?

yes

XD
Yes hosler, our instinct wants to be keylogged.
