I’m currently in the middle of this game. I just beat the 3rd temple. This is my first play through. I’ve played most of all the other Zelda games and it just didn’t feel right leaving this one out.
It’s really, hair-pullingly frustrating.
Has anybody here played the whole way through? Any words of encouragement? This is how I feel when I play it: :bang:
It’s way more fun when you cheat 
I’ve played it legit but always died at Death Mountain. So I cheated with codes and was able to actually enjoy the game.
I played it atleast halfway through when I got it as a child. Can’t really remember though.

I wish the game was actually enjoyable…It’s like…a thing I have to do.
Beat the game without cheats as some rite of passage to solidify my gamer rep. You know? It’s a hard life.

Zelda 2 is the only zelda game worse than majoras mask.

Majora’s Mask was pretty damn awesome. Zelda 2 is not a bad game on it’s own, just not a very Zelda-like game.
I like and disliked Majora’s Mask. Zelda 2, eugh. But hey, my favorites were the gameboy zelda games, pre and post capcom.

I love Zelda II, mainly for the nostalgia and the music. However, how can someone say it’s not Zelda enough? it’s the fucking second game of the series, the standard for the series hadn’t even been set yet. It wasn’t until Zelda 3: A Link To The Past came and used the same topdown birdsview like the first game did that it was (kindof) set.
It’s as much a Zelda game as the other games.
I really like Link’s awakening. I’m going start Ages and Seasons after Zelda II.

Link’s awakening is may favorite one out of all of them, just a lot of good times back then, that when I play the game today it brings them back. I just beat it again recently almost 3 days ago

I just name my save file “THIEF”, that way I don’t feel guilty for stealing from that old fuddy-duddy’s shop.

I made a theft thing on Zolderon. If you said “I’m a theif!” in the shop the shop keeper would start crying and give you money.
